Welcome to the June issue of the BSIF newsletter.
Safety and Health Expo 2016 is nearly upon us and our entire industry is busy preparing for a hectic week in London in just over three weeks time.
This year at the BSIF stand (located at R1800) we are thrilled to be joining with key stakeholders including:
- The Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS)
- The Health & Safety Laboratory (HSL)
- The Health & Safety Executive (HSE)
- Trading Standards
These organisations are all at the centre of safeguarding the implementation of effective heath and safety strategies within a successful business framework. Our stand represents a truly united approach to worker safety and health.
We will also be announcing our plans to relaunch the Registered Safety Supplier Scheme at the show. This will further enhance the quality of personal protective equipment provided to the occupational safety user.
In the past year, inadequate PPE has hit the headlines on several occasions from safety footwear toe cap failures to banned chemicals in leather gloves and non compliant high-vis vests, so a relaunch of the RSSS is particularly pertinent – the message being anyone can sell safety but you wouldn’t buy safety from anyone.
Make sure to clear your schedule for 4pm on the Tuesday at the show. The BSIF Safety Awards 2016 ceremony will take place at the SHE Live stage.
I look forward to seeing you all at the show.
