Western Business Exhibitions and Publishing (WBEP) and the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) are pleased to announce an exciting extension to their 14-year partnership. BSIF has agreed to become a strategic partner for WBEP’s long-standing and successful exhibition series The Health and Safety Event.
The agreement will see BSIF have a significant presence at The Health and Safety Event in NEC Birmingham (21-23 March 2017), Scotland Works at SECC, Glasgow (3-4 May 2017) and Health Safety North at EventCity, Manchester (10-11 October 2017), which will provide the perfect platform for BSIF members to showcase their latest innovative products.
The judging for the prestigious BSIF product innovation Awards will now take place live as part of the Health and Safety Event at the NEC. Entrants will make live pitches to the experienced judging panel who will then draw up the shortlist and announce the winners at the show. In 2018, BSIF and WBEP will make the event even bigger by hosting an Awards dinner near to the NEC to provide entrants and BSIF members with a great networking opportunity during an evening as part of the Health and Safety Event.
At the heart of the partnership will be WBEP’s ability to engage with its wide network of end users and health and safety professionals via multi-media print and digital channels, which will include its flagship title Health and Safety Matters magazine and its market leading website and e-communications platforms. WBEP will be working closely to launch further exciting and interactive digital products to continue its role as the leading digital platform in the health and safety market.
This will provide a much-increased market reach for the BSIF and help it to closer engage with both members and potential new members. It will provide a perfect platform for a greater focus on the BSIF’s Registered Safety Supplier (RSS) scheme, which requires all BSIF members to correctly test PPE to European Standards and ensure customer facing staff are adequately trained in the needs of the safety and health market. WBEP will widely promote the benefits of the programme to both users and commercial operators.
WBEP group sales director Tim Else described the new strategic partnership as a natural extension to the key relationship between the two organisations. He said: “This new and exclusive strategic partnership with BSIF builds on our long-standing relationship with the Federation and its membership. The faith shown in Western Business Exhibitions and Publishing by the BSIF reflects substantial recent growth in our Health and Safety Events portfolio. The combination of BSIF’s influence and knowledge and our market leading portfolio of events, print and digital media will deliver a formidable alliance.”
BSIF chief executive Alan Murray was equally excited about the positive effects the partnership will have for Federation members. He explained that the agreement will sit at the heart of the BSIF’s ambitious strategic plan. Alan said: “I am delighted to be partnering with WBE and extending our WBP alliance. I see the partnership as a fantastic opportunity for BSIF and our members to participate in events reaching the length and breadth of Great Britain.
