At the annual British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) Networking Day on Thursday 29th September, Mike Clayton and Kevin Warren were announced as the 2016 winners of the Outstanding Contribution Award and Commitment to Federation Activities Award respectively.
Outstanding Contribution Award
Sponsored by The McOnie Agency, this was awarded to Mike Clayton, an individual who has improved occupational health and safety through exceptional personal effort. Mike has been instrumental in improving product design and development in the field of Respiratory Protective Equipment. He has been an advocate of the Fit2Fit programme from its inception, serving as a Chief Assessor and a member of the Technical Committee, providing the crucial link into the Health and Safety Executive, where he is the Technical Lead on Personal Protective Equipment. Mike is also President of the International Society for Respiratory Protect (ISRP).
Commitment to Federation Activities Award
This award goes to an individual who has committed exceptional resources to the work of the BSIF, and is richly deserved by its winner, Kevin Warren. Not only is Kevin Chairman of the BSIF Test & Certification Association but he also represents BSIF at many national standards development committees. In addition Kevin makes sure GB interests are represented at European Commission bodies for Notified Bodies. Kevin has had a distinguished career and is currently Certification Manager for BTTG.
