John Redwood

Dear colleagues,
I am sorry to report that John Redwood a significant
contributor to the work of BSI PH/2 and ISO/TC94/SC6
technical committee over many years, died on the 5th of
October following a battle with cancer over the preceding
18 months.
John was the Principal Optometrist for the Department of
Health and played a leading role in the development of
standards for industrial eye protection. In addition to his
expertise he will be greatly missed for his cheerful, friendly
and easy-going personality, and his cartoons, many of which
made a pertinent comment on the ongoing discussion.
We will pass on our condolences to his wife Sheila.
